In November 2022, a spot check on domestic air cargo movement in Japan found that the vast majority of air cargo parcels were transported in mixed loadings, amounting to 93.1 percent of overall deliveries. Door-to-door express deliveries from air fright forwarders accounted for five percent of deliveries.

*This category refers only to express deliveries which consignors handed over directly to air freight forwarders for domestic transportation. Express deliveries transported via air, which consignors had entrusted to trucking companies, were not included. These express deliveries from trucking businesses made up around 34 percent of the total weight and are either part of small lot consignments or mixed loadings.
