In 2020, 41 percent of respondents from the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States state having migrated an application that should have stayed on-premises to a public cloud, which is why they had to move the application back on-premises. In general, public clouds are computing services offered by providers to organizations over the internet. Because they are usually offered through a pay-as-you-go model, many organizations decide to move their applications to a cloud in order to reduce expenses. However, proper implementation and an awareness of technical issues relating to the migration process are important cornerstones to utilizing the benefits of public clouds.
