In many of the countries with a large number of international students, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) was the most popular field of study, with more than half of the students studying this in Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom, and even about three fourths of students in the Philippines. In Israel, nearly 60 percent of the international students studied other subjects than STEM and business and management.
