In France in 2022, about 36.3 percent of students were eligible for a grant. The share of students eligible to receive state financial aid as part of their education stayed relatively stable between 2015 and 2022. However, the rate rose to 38.4 percent in 2020, the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, before decreasing again.
