According to a recent global survey, 36 percent of respondents named application portability as a key driver for containerizing applications. Generally, both portability and efficiency were of great importance to respondents. It is likely that efficiency is given such great consideration is because adoption has already increased and because it is cost-intensive to maintain oversized environments. Containers help organizations take full advantage of cloud pay-as-you-go models because their architecture allows for scaling out on demand.
