In 2023, there were about 6.2 million internal migrants in South Korea, showing a slight decrease compared to the previous year. Internal migration over the past decade peaked in 2015. The figures were mainly influenced by, among others, redevelopment projects, real estate businesses, people moving to new large apartments, as well as the employment situation.
