Coal consumption in Brazil amounted to nearly 21.8 million metric tons in 2023, the lowest consumption volume reported there in at least one decade. After reaching the peak of the decade in 2014, at almost 28 million tons, coal consumption in the South American country has been on a mostly downward trend.
