Nursing facility occupancy rate in the U.S. 2003-2023
Over the last two decades, the occupancy of certified nursing facilities in the United States remained relatively stable at around 80 percent. During the coronavirus pandemic, the occupancy rates of nursing facilities across the United States were significantly lower. Occupancy rates of certified nursing homes have since been increasing and is currently at 75 percent as of July 2023.
