According to a survey conducted in August 2020, card-funded mobile payment was more prevalent among consumers living in Taiwan and Hong Kong, accounting for respectively 76 percent and 61 percent of the respondents. On the other hand, shoppers in Macao slightly preferred non-card-funded to card-funded mobile wallets.

According to the source, the survey was conducted with 1,600 consumers living in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
For Hong Kong and Taiwan, the surveys were done using online access panels, whereas in Macao, interviews were conducted face-to-face, via street intercepts.
