In 2020, a U.S. survey investigated the perceived business benefits of investing in B2B e-commerce according to manufacturers. Revenue growth was the main reason for investment according to 39 percent of U.S. manufacturers, while 38 percent of them invested in e-commerce to improve business efficiency. Furthermore, e-commerce activities helped to stay ahead of, or at pace with, changing customer needs and to reduce costs for 34 percent of manufacturers.
