In anticipation of Ramadan in 2021, 57 percent of respondents from the Middle East and North Africa were planning on going to mosques for their prayers during this month, while respecting any COVID-19 related restrictions. At the same time, over 55 percent of respondents from the region consider their faith and spirituality as important to them. Prior to the global pandemic, mosques and other Islamic facilities experienced a considerable surge in visitors for the month of Ramadan. Due to social distancing measures, Muslims all around the world are considering performing their prayers at home, as they did during the beginning of the pandemic in Ramadan 2020.
This year, Ramadan is expected to start by April 13th and end on May 12th with the three day festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
