Perceived benefits of a cashless society in Hong Kong 2020, by benefit
According to a 2020 survey, around two out of three surveyed consumers living in Hong Kong stated that one benefit of a non-cash society lay in the convenience of going cashless. A number of respondents also believed that a cashless society would be more hygienic, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly, accounting for respectively 52 percent, 44 percent, and 37 percent of the respondents.
