A survey conducted in July 2021 indicated that consumers in Macao expected to make more cashless payments because such forms of payment were easy-to-use, quick, and widely accepted. Respondents stated the reasons as carrying less cash and being more comfortable with non-cash methods, accounting for respectively 36 percent and 22 percent.
