In 2020, Kenya was by far the highest producer of tea in Africa. The country's production reached roughly570 thousand metric tons, which corresponded to nearly 70 percent of the continent's tea output. Uganda, Tanzania, and Malawi were the next largest tea producers in Africa. Together, they produced around 160 thousand metric tons.
