According to a recent global survey in 2020, 40 percent of respondents plan to deploy SD-WAN in their organization within the next 12 months. SD-WAN refers to software-defined networking in a wide area network. SD-WANs often replace multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), as they are less expensive. Additionally, it is easier to be in control of SD-WAN in terms of ability to design, deploy, and manage new equipment, and thus respond quickly to changing business needs.
