Economic impact of violence in Algeria 2010-2019
In 2019, the total economic impact of violence in Algeria exceeded 123 billion U.S. dollars adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). This indicator measures both the direct and indirect costs of violent acts, taking into account the multiplier effect. From 2010 onwards, the value in Algeria fluctuated and peaked at 137.73 billion U.S. dollars in 2017. The country had the highest economic cost of violence in North Africa in 2019, exceeding 63.6 billion U.S. dollars.
