Kenya relied on 43 Chinese loans as source of funding in the period between 2000 and 2019. In terms of value, the country borrowed a total of 9.2 U.S. dollars from China in the period. The highest number of loan commitments was registered in 2017. That year, six deals were signed between Chinese financiers and the Kenyan government.
