According to a survey conducted in the U.S. in 2020, virtual visits for chronic condition management peaked at 41 percent when the in-person visits were the lowest in the last eight months, a significant increase from six percent reported before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Most clinical healthcare leaders surveyed reported a significant rise in virtual health visits across all healthcare settings in their organizations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, clinical leaders in chronic-condition management and primary care setting believe the optimal level of virtual visits in future is around one-third.
