Travelers are becoming more aware of their environmental impact, and some travelers are willing to change their behavior to mitigate this impact. Based on a survey taken in the United States in 2019 to determine the likelihood of travelers to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors, 54 percent of respondents indicated that they would be willing to use less single-use plastics. In contrast, 27 percent of respondents indicated that they would be willing to rent bicycles or walk more instead of taking automobile transportation when traveling.
