The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic disrupted global travel in 2020 with many governments putting in place stay-at-home measures to limit the spread of the virus. According to a December 2020 study, respondents aged between 30 and 49 years were had the most confidence that they would travel in 2021, with 60 percent of them having booked travel, currently planning to travel, or expect to travel. In contrast, less than half of respondents aged 50 or older claimed the same.
