Soccer —also known as football — was the sport with the largest fan base in Brazil, according to an online survey conducted in the beginning of 2020. At the time, 46 percent of Brazilians surveyed considered themselves fans or huge fans of this sport. Volleyball ranked second, popular among one quarter of respondents. That same year, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) was, by a wide margin, the most followed sports confederation in Brazil.
