In 2022, the area of class 1 to 3 regular warehouses in Japan reached a decade high of approximately 66.13 million square meters, increasing from around 40 million square meters in 2013. Increasingly popular self-storage units, known as 'trunk rooms' in Japan, often fall within this category since many conform to these standards.
