Most arrests for suspected drug smuggling that took place in the airports of Nigeria in 2019 were recorded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, located in Lagos, with 104 arrests. In 2018, the number of arrests was lower. The other airports, namely Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Port Harcourt airports, the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, and the Enugu airport, all reported less than 10 arrests both in 2018 and 2019, with the exception of Naia-Abuji airport, in which 14 arrests were made in 2019.
