Breakdown of sugar confectionery by in China 2019, by sales channel
In 2019, supermarkets stood out as the leading distribution channel in China’s sugar confectionery retail market. Sales value of supermarkets reached 32.4 billion yuan, accounting for approximately one-third of the total market sales value. In the meantime, convenience stores only reached 4.4 billion yuan in sales. Sales from other distribution channels, including food and beverages retailers, forecourt retailers, and discounters accounted for a total of 8.3 billion yuan.
