Gender equality situation in the legal system in Japan 2023
According to a survey conducted in 2023 on gender equality in Japan, approximately 42 percent of respondents believed that men and women were treated equally under the Japanese law system and constitution. However, over 50 percent thought men receive preferential treatment, while just around seven percent believed the same was true for women.
