In 2021, Kakao had the highest share of women on boards of directors at 28.6 percent among listed companies with total assets of over two trillion South Korean won in South Korea. It was followed by Amorepacific and CJ CheilJedang with 23.9 and 23.2 percent respectively.
Established in 2010, Kakao is one of the largest internet firms in South Korea. It is not only well known for its leading instant messaging application KakaoTalk but also for its growing prominence in internet contents, the banking industry, and transportation services.
