As of January 2020, around 46 percent of Brazilians considered themselves to be soccer fans, according to a survey. In contrast, nearly two out of ten respondents in the South American country said that they were not interested at all, with another four percent affirming they hated the sport. As of October of that year, the Brazilian Football Confederation (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol - CBF) was by far Brazil's most followed sport confederation on social media.
