Frequency of virtual private network usage in the U.S. and U.K. 2020
With 41 percent, most respondents from the United States and the United Kingdom use a virtual private network (VPN) at least once a week. This suggests that VPNs are not necessarily used for a particular occasion, but are seamlessly integrated into general internet browsing activities. VPNs are often used to unlock restricted pieces of content or ensure more privacy when being online. Additionally, mobile VPNs are also available and used, as online activities frequently take place on mobile devices.
