As of March 24, 2021, over 192 thousand staff in high-risk hospitals under the age of 65 were vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Korea. Earlier this year, the Korean government announced a COVID-19 vaccination plan for employees under the age of 65 in nursing hospitals or facilities, high-risk medical institutions, and the first responding group including emergency personnel or quarantine personnel, etc. The AstraZeneca vaccine will be used for this priority group and the vaccination is scheduled to take place first over February and March, and through till May. Also, vaccinations are planned for staff in hospitals treating COVID-19 patients, and the Pfizer vaccine will be used for this group.
