In the second half of 2020, Argentina was the most popular country of origin among foreign professional soccer players in the Brazilian Serie A league, with more than 20 footballers. Colombia ranked second, with 17 players. In that same period, foreign professional soccer players in the Portuguese speaking country accounted for roughly nine percent of the time played.
