Spending for pensions in Italy 2018, by region
In Italy, the Southern region of Calabria recorded the highest expenditure on pensions in relation to its GDP, where pensions accounted for around 23.7 percent of the gross domestic product. The lowest spending was recorded in Trentino-South Tyrol, in the North, with about 11.4 percent of the GDP. Overall, the data include old-age, work injury, retirement, disability, and similar pensions.
