In 2020, 394 million worked hours per week were registered in Morocco, as against the 494 million hours in 2019, representing a loss of 20 percent. In the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector, working hours declined by 17 percent. Moreover, for this sector, more work hours were lost in the rural areas (17.4 percent), compared to urban zones which reported a 13.6 percent loss. Overall in Morocco, 273 thousand job losses were recorded in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector at the mentioned period. This was attributed to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the dry agricultural season experienced in the country.
