In 2021, the savings of households in Switzerland and Ireland represented over 20 percent of their disposable income. In contrast, families in Finland and Poland had savings amounting to under thee percent of their disposable income. Meanwhile, Chinese households saved nearly 35 percent of their disposable income in 2019, while the figures for the United States in 2020 amounted to 17 percent. Some of the factors that may explain these differences are the attitudes toward saving and the ability to do so in each countries.

When a country has negative figures, it means that the final consumption of the households of that country was higher than their net disposable income.
