Share of fruit imports to Singapore 2021, by country of origin
In 2021, 40 percent of the fruits that were imported to Singapore came from the neighboring country, Malaysia. Being a highly urbanized country, Singapore has to resort to urban farming and the use of modern biotechnologies to reach their goal of producing 30 percent of its own food supply by 2030 in order to improve its food security.
