Chickens were the largest species of livestock in Kenya as of 2022. That year, there were around 61 million heads of chickens in the country. Goats followed, with approximately 34.5 million heads. Moreover, Kenya summed 25.8 million heads of sheep and some 23.5 million heads of cattle.
