According to a survey carried out in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2020, the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant effect on the mental health of people living with eye conditions. Over 43 percent of respondents who had cataracts reported that the lockdown made their mental health somewhat worse, while around ten percent said that it made their mental health a lot worse.
