5G capable smartphones have been increasing in both availability and popularity recently, accounting for the majority of smartphone sales for two consecutive quarters. 5G smartphones maintained a 57 percent share of overall sales in the first quarter of 2021, boosted by sales of the Samsung Galaxy S21 and the iPhone 12.
