Net energy imports in Egypt 2005-2021

In 2021, the net energy imports into Egypt amounted to 112.6 petajoules. This represented an increase from 101.85 petajoules the previous year. Moreover, Egypt has been a net energy importer since 2013 (except in 2019), compared to previously, when the net imports were negative. During the period under review, Egypt's energy imports were at their highest in 2016, with 404.1 petajoules.
