According to the Gender Equality Index 2020, 72 percent of lone mothers in the EU report good or very good health. A higher number of lone fathers, 77 percent, report the same. Compared to couples with children, however, lone parents overall report worse health. Gender gaps among lone parents and couples in the EU also impact employment rates.
