Around 2.3 million metric tons of fresh citrus fruits were expected to be produced in Morocco in the marketing year 2020/2021, out of which approximately 1.6 million were estimated to be consumed domestically. The national consumption of citrus fruits throughout the period under review was dominated by fresh oranges, reaching a volume of 663 thousand metric tons in 2019/2020. However, within the same year, the production of fresh tangerines and mandarins were higher compared to that from fresh oranges.
