With nearly 770 thousand tons, Brazil was by far the leading tobacco producer in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2019. That year, the South American country's production volume surpassed the combined amount produced by the following four major tobacco suppliers in the region. Consequently, the South American giant also ranked as the top Latin American tobacco exporter that year, with a trade value of more than two billion U.S. dollars.
