From 2019 to 2020, there was an increase in global notebook PC shipments for each of the various operating systems: Windows, Chrome, MacOS, and others. This does not entirely come as a surprise as remote working and e-learning continues worldwide due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Although Chrome is not the largest operating system in terms of shipments, it still saw the largest annual year-on-year growth of 86 percent. More specifically, notebook PC shipments with the Chrome operating system went from only 18.2 million units in 2019 to 33.7 million units shipped worldwide in 2020.
