The total assets of credit unions worldwide grew for almost all years during the period from 2009 to 2019. There was a slight drop in the value in 2016, when the total assets amounted to around 1.76 trillion U.S. dollars, but the number continued to grow the following years and reached around 2.63 trillion U.S. dollars in 2019.
