The majority of Italy's outstanding securities were made up of treasury bonds or BTPs as of August 2024. In total, around 2.5 trillion euros of securities were outstanding as of August 2024. More than three quarters of this was comprised of treasury bonds, with a further 9.1 percent being index-linked treasury bonds.
