The number of new television shows broadcast on French channels has fluctuated from 2012 to 2021. Overall, there were more foreign productions broadcast on French national television than French ones. The number of French TV shows reached its lowest point in 2014 with a total of 13 shows, while 30 French series were available in 2021. As a matter of comparison, 40 new foreign series were broadcast on French channels in 2021.
