In August 2020, a survey carried out in Russia found that 11 percent of respondents were wearing their eyeglasses more often since the COVID-19 pandemic began, while eight percent reported they were wearing contact lenses more often. On the other hand, 28 percent of Russians reported they were wearing their contact lenses less often since the pandemic outbreak.
