In 2020, 63 percent of respondents in Libya were unable to reach their jobs following the COVID-19 pandemic. In comparison, 41 percent of respondents in Egypt and Tunisia stopped working after the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic caused shocks to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2020, worsening its welfare and economic situation.
