Based on guests' spending on restaurants, transport, commerce, and accommodation, the impact of Airbnb on the Mexican economy was estimated at 2.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. This represents an increase of roughly four percent in comparison to a year earlier. That same year, Latin America accounted for 10 percent of Airbnb bookings worldwide.
