The gross domestic product downgrade from October 2019 to October 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic was the highest in Lebanon at a decrease of about 19.5 percentage points among the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The COVID-19 pandemic caused shocks to the region in 2020, worsening its welfare and economic situation.
