The total allocation by investors to alternatives remained relatively unchanged between 2018 and 2022. However, the composition of that allocation changed considerably during these years. Across the period considered, institutional investors allocated a decreasing share of their assets under management (AUM) to credit. On the other hand, the portion of assets under management allocated to private equity and venture capital steadily increased between 2018 and 2022.
